lyrics

You were an island, couldn't get to you
Sharks in the water, couldn't navigate the blue
through the storm, tried to direct the winds, but my sails were torn so I tried to swim
poetry in foreign tongues i couldn't understand coming from your head
everytime I tried to reach you, arms not long enough, you said "Where you been?
I am right in front of you
I am right in front of you
I was a desert my tongue left words to dry
you nevcer asked if I was thirsty or why I couldn't cry
sand filled my shoes so I couldn't walk away
and the island that I loved, a mirage out in the bay
poetry in foreign tongues i couldn't understand coming from your head
everytime I tried to reach you, arms not long enough, you said "Where you been?
I am right in front of you
I am right in front of you
